Apple appears to be pressing forward with its cryptocurrency adoption plans. The behemoth is now looking for finance specialists, especially those with experience with cryptocurrency.
The organization is now looking for a Business Development Manager for “Alternative Payments” -with experience in various sectors, including cryptocurrency — according to a recent job posting.
At least five years of experience working with alternative payment providers, such as digital wallets and crypto-assets, is required for the key certifications. Candidates will be in charge of end-to-end business development and the launch of new FinTech-related programs.
Apple is looking for financial technology experts.
The WPC (Apple Wallets, Payments, and Commerce) team, looking for experts in new and alternative payment options, published the job posting on Wednesday.
The publication has piqued the interest of the crypto community, which is now interested to see how this will play out in terms of mainstream adoption, mainly because Apple Pay is one of the most popular payment processors, with over 65 million users. If cryptocurrencies are included in Apple Pay, the typical individual may be encouraged to explore cryptocurrency using Apple devices, wallets, and credit cards.
Apple Makes a Foray Into Crypto
For a long time, Apple has been teasing the crypto community. According to CryptoPotato, thanks to a successful integration by Simplex, an Israeli-based supplier of fiat to crypto, Apple Pay users can now buy Cardano (ADA) directly.
Apple hasn’t said anything about its plans for cryptocurrency. Most payment companies who have adopted crypto convert cryptocurrencies to fiat currency to accept payments from their global merchants, such as PayPal, which recently announced “impressive performance” due to cryptocurrency.
Apple, on the other hand, believes that developing financial technologies will transform people’s lives because “new ideas have a way of becoming incredible products, services, and customer experiences that people couldn’t have imagined – and now can’t imagine living without.”
Following the introduction of cryptocurrencies by tech and financial heavyweights, the crypto world has been abuzz with rumors about what Apple plans to do with them.
